Today is May 1, 2020 and I don’t know about you, but I have been struggling with this stay-at-home order. From the constant isolation, to our stir-crazy kiddos, to my uncertainty about our family’s future, I have been a ball of nerves lately.
We Are Not Alone
I know many moms and dads are feeling similarly during this unprecedented pandemic. Perhaps, like me, you are worried about your family’s health; or concerned about your financial situation. Maybe you are working full-time from home in a house filled with little people and struggling to keep up with it all. Perhaps at this stage, you even feel a little guilty because your kids are driving you crazy and you have simply run out of patience.
Simple Ways to Manage Stress & Anxiety
Our stories may vary, but I think we can all empathize with each other and the struggles we are facing. In times like these, stress management can be beneficial, especially when practiced regularly. Some of my stress management regimen includes reading, bubble baths, incense oils (especially lavender), calming music, long walks, and making sure I get plenty of sleep.
I also benefit from proactively protecting my heart and mind by monitoring what I allow in. During uncertain times, I try to be even more mindful about the type of media I consume because of the fear it can engender and residual it leaves behind. When I need a break from reality, I enjoy reading books and fill my mind with quotes that focus on peace and tranquility.
To that effect, I would like to share with you 5 of my favorite quotes on peace:
